After you are confirmed with pregnancy through the urine test, your doctor may ask for the ultrasound for full confirmation. It is the sure-short method to confirm the pregnancy. It also ensures that the embryo reaches the final point otherwise it can start developing in the birth canal which can result in ectopic pregnancy. With the help of ultrasound, the “gestational sac or yellow body” of pregnancy can be identified. This yellow body is responsible for making the nutrition for the fetus and it grows continuously. This gestational sac can be clearly seen in the 4th week of pregnancy. However, if the level of hCG has increased high between 2500 – 3500 mIU/mL then it will not be possible to see this sac easily.
