You might not look pregnant in the 7th week of the pregnancy but your baby has started to grow. It can be of approximately one centimeter. The eyelids and nose just seem to appear and you can feel it now well inside your uterus as it now begins to expand. If it is your first pregnancy, you need to get ready because it is the time when you start feeling the flow of emotions. Also, there are some mothers that don’t feel any symptoms at all. This can be a great problem at this stage. If you are also one of them then you must rush to the doctor immediately.
Symptoms and Signs of Pregnancy during 7th Week of Pregnancy
The first symptom that a lady feels when she is in the 7th week of pregnancy is that she starts feeling hungry every now. Some women feel their breasts sore, while some feels change in their sense of smell. There are some other common symptoms also that are listed below:
Nausea: It is also a common problem for a seven month pregnant woman. You don’t need to get irritated with it but you must try to find ways to cope with it. You can use ginger or vitamin-C capsules or you can also try acupressure. Mothers usually feel nausea and vomiting in the morning time only.
Acne: As there are some certain hormonal changes in the body, you might see the appearance of acne on you. But before using any anti acne product, you must consult a doctor.
Excessive saliva: You salivary gland might secrete saliva in excess. This is due hormonal imbalance that occurs in your body due to changes occur in pregnancy week by week. It can also be due to the nausea.
Cramping or spotting: You might feel cramping in the early weeks of pregnancy. 7th week is the time when your uterus starts to grow which can be the reason for this cramping. Your cervix becomes more sensitive during this period. Hence, spotting can become common during this period of pregnancy.
You need to know that if the abdominal pain occurs more than a normal menstrual period then it is alarming. You need to see a doctor for that. You must also not ignore menstrual bleeding if it happens more than usual periods.
7 Weeks Pregnant Ultrasound
Every pregnant woman wants to notice her pregnancy symptoms week by week. But if you are looking for changes in your belly in seventh week then you need not to. Your uterus starts growing out of the pelvis in the seventh week but you cannot notice changes in your belly in the seventh week.
You are ready to go for an ultrasound at this period of time. The embryo can be detected well; you can also see the heart beats of the embryo on the monitor. It is not possible to identify whether it is a boy or a girl at this stage but you can be sure that your baby is developing healthy inside you. You can prefer following two types of ultrasound –
1) Trans-abdominal ultrasound: This is basically the ultrasound of the lower abdomen. The ultrasound gel is applied to the lower part of your abdomen which is to be scanned. The gel makes probe run smooth and keeps it in well contact with your skin.
2) Trans-vaginal ultrasound: It is an internal ultrasound and that why it gives a clearer image. The ultrasound probe lies nearer to the pelvic organ and hence it gives better satisfaction to you.
You can also spot if you are going to have twins at this stage of pregnancy with the ultrasound.
What is needed during 7th week of Pregnancy?
You need have more folic acid and vitamin D: The folic acid reduces the risk of damaging of neural tube of the embryo. You need to start taking it at this time. Folic acid is present in cereals, green vegetables, citrus fruits such as oranges, rice, pasta etc.Vitamin D helps in healthy development of teeth and bones of the embryo as it regulates the levels of phosphate and calcium in the body. It also helps in developing healthy muscles of the baby. Prime sources of vitamin D are fishes like tuna, cheese, eggs, milk and more.
Don’t show laziness: If you have started sitting and laying for a very long time at some place then you must avoid it. It is not at all healthy for your baby. It also puts you at the risk of sudden weight gain. Gestational diabetes or preeclampsia might also come into act due to this. You can have difficulties in breathing and may also suffer from lower back pain. You can prefer swimming for some time or you can go for a walk with a dog or you can also prefer joining yoga classes.
Don’t each too much snacks: It can be bit hard for you to quit eating snacks instantly but you need to avoid them if you want to go through a healthy pregnancy period. You can switch it with other colorful and healthy edibles fruits like red apples, orange carrots, spinach, bananas, blue berries etc. They will not only provide you with essential nutrients for pregnancy but also work to purify your body during pregnancy as they are also good antioxidants. Your baby can also develop a good sense of taste this way.
What to avoid during 7th Week of Pregnancy
Quit smoking now: If you are a regular smoker then you must say no to cigarettes today only. Smoking leads you miscarriage. Also it is found that the babies that were born to cigarette smoking women have some sort of defects such as cleft lip, cleft palate, lower birth weight, and even dead births.
Don’t take alcohol: It can affect the baby’s brain development drastically. During the trimester especially if you take alcohol, it will definitely make your baby unhealthy.
Avoid too much caffeine: It is noticed certainly that women who had in taken too much caffeine had given birth to babies with much lower weight. Too much caffeine can also cause miscarriage.
